Overview
Enrolment of nodes into the EOSC Federation is subject to an application, evaluation, selection and authorisation process administered by the EOSC Tripartite Governance. Detailed information on this process can be found here.
The EOSC EU Node supports the EOSC Federation by providing Node Registration services as part of the Node Enrolment workflow. The Node Registration and technical validation services facilitate the listing of Node Resources (meaning Research Product Catalogue and Service Catalogue endpoints) into the federation via the Contributors Dashboard.
Specifically, it enables:
- Registration and management of Nodes and their Node Resources within the EOSC Federation.
- Validation and verification of Nodes and their Node Resources against the EOSC Federation technical specifications and guidelines.
- Publication and presentation of Nodes and their Node Resources through the EOSC EU Node Resource Hub.
This service is available exclusively to EOSC Node Representatives who are officially authorised to represent Nodes of the EOSC Federation and registered as EOSC EU Node users.
Further details on how the Contributors Dashboard works can be found here.
How it works
The Node Registration process enables organisations to become recognised as EOSC Nodes and to list Node Resources in the EOSC Federation.
- An authorised representative of a Node initiates the registration process via the EOSC EU Node’s User Space (Contributors Dashboard tab).
- The representative provides all required information and registers at least one Node Resource.
- The operations team validates the Node’s eligibility, technical conformance and the successful registration of its AAI and catalogue endpoints.
- Upon successful validation, the Node is listed in the Resource Hub’s Node Registry tab and the content of its Node Resources is included in the EOSC EU Node’s Resource Catalogue.
- Additional Node Resources may be registered at any time. More details can be found in the EOSC Node Registration Policy.
