Overview
The EOSC EU Node is a production infrastructure that supports international and interdisciplinary research by providing a range of integrated application and infrastructure services, as well as access to relevant data. These services are delivered in a FAIR, transparent and equitable manner, ensuring consistent access across the research community.
Third parties (legal entities) may contribute non-commercial resources and services by onboarding them to the EOSC EU Node. Once integrated, these contributions become available to all EOSC EU Node users and, more broadly, to the EOSC Federation, thereby extending its scope and coverage across scientific disciplines.
Onboarding is available to eligible third-party organisations for their services and resources, subject to the technical, operational and legal requirements outlined in the EOSC EU Node Resources and Service Onboarding Policy. Organisations that do not meet the eligibility criteria are encouraged to onboard their resources and services through other Nodes within the EOSC Federation (or to become EOSC Nodes themselves).
How it works
The Contributor onboarding process enables organisations to register as Contributors and onboard their services and resources to the EOSC EU Node.
- A Contributor submits a registration request to the EOSC EU Node through the Contributor Dashboard via an authorised representative.
- The operations team reviews the application and assesses the Contributor's eligibility. The request is then either approved or rejected.
- Once registered, the Contributor can submit a request to onboard a service or resource (e.g. data source, training material, interoperability guideline) via the Contributor Dashboard.
- The EOSC EU Node evaluates the submission and, upon approval, initiates the technical onboarding process.
- The Contributor gets access to technical documentation, onboarding guidelines, support services and controlled access to EOSC EU Node environments.
- The EOSC EU Node and the Contributor work together to complete the onboarding process and ensure that all technical and operational requirements are met.
- Before entering production, the Contributor accepts the applicable EOSC EU Node policies and assumes operational responsibility for the onboarded offering.
